Imagine tonight, you have no place to go.  You’ve finally overstayed your welcome on your cousin’s best friend’s couch.  The city tells you that it will take more than 3 years for your name to reach the top of the waiting list for an affordable apartment, and your job doesn’t pay anywhere near the $1200 rents are going for these days.  Where do you turn?

For more than 600 women each year, they answer that question with “Rosie’s Place”.  Rosie’s Place provides safe, dignified shelter for up to 11 weeks – time for a guest to prepare to move into a public housing unit; to apply for supportive housing for the disabled; to stabilize her psychiatric medications; to have respite from the burden of living on the street.
